ALL ABOUT DIVSHARE

LB # 13 Teaching With Visual Symbols

Visual symbols includes drawings, diagrams, formulas, chart, graphs, maps or globe.

With the help of these materials, it would easy for the teacher to explain briefly the lesson. Students would have a hard time to understand the lesson if the teacher would only talks something which is invisible, let say for an example. The lesson is about the parts of the tree, how would the students understand and see the parts if the teacher would simply talk in front, it's better to use drawings for the students to understand and determine the parts. If the subject is about economics, the teacher should use graphs for her to be able to explain the standing or the result of 5 companies competing when it comes to the income. With the use of graphs, students would be able to understand the lesson and would have an idea on what is happening in the economy. In mathematics, students cannot solve a problem if there's no formulas on how to solve it, so it is very important to use formulas especially in mathematics. If the teacher would talk about continents without the use of maps and globes, the tendency would be the students will find the subject very boring, but with the use of maps, it would be interesting to listen because students would see how big the continent is and be able to wider their imagination on that place.

Chapter 13 is just the same as saying " It's hard to trust,to love and appreciate the person you did not see"
It's hard to understand, to love and appreciate the lesson if it is hanging, hanging in the sense that the teacher doesn't use any teaching visual symbols which is necessary in a classroom discussion.

LB # 12 The Power of Film, Video And TV In The Classroom

With the help of Film, Video and Tv in the classroom, the students would gain more information and knowledge, but the teacher should make sure that if she's going to have a film showing in her class it should relate to the subject and the content must be relevant for the students. These things help to let the students understand easily on what is being demonstrated by the teacher,it would easy for the students to see on what is happening or should be done in a particular thing than listening to the teacher and watching the demonstration which is very complicated to understand. Through these things, the learners would be able to understand and adopt events, information or even procedures easily.

The teacher would not have a difficult time in repeating the things that is very significant in the lesson,the teacher should also consider that there are students who are slow learner, with the help of these stuff she would be able to repeat the scene in an easy way without any difficulty and a waste of effort and voice. It would also help the students to wider their imagination and apply important things they see in a film into their lives and into reality.

LB # 11 Making The Most of Community Resources And Field Trips

Chapter 11 emphasizes that we as future teachers must have an idea on how to use the things or people in our community in order to give or share ideas which are very essential for the students, but the resources it might be things or people must be appropriate to the information and needs to be given to the students. Like for instance, if the teacher would like to discuss about on how to take care of the teeth, she may approach the dentist in their community to give information to the students on how to take care of their teeth.

There are 3 words that i can define about having a field trips, these words are the following

EXCITEMENT
EDUCATIONAL
FUN

Excitement is the emotion that the students would feel if they know that they will be having a field trip.
Educational happens during the field trip,especially if it is on the museum or in historic place. The students gain information and knowledge by seeing those important things.
Fun  is the emotion that the students would feel and a word that would come out in their mouth during and after the field trip.
